ABOUT US.

Starting under the guise of a promotions company, ‘Another Youth Culture’ was an idea that first manifested itself as a college project.

Being such an avid fan of music spanning over several decades and genres, I’ve always loved how music has the capacity to change and influence. Music is community, music is giving a voice to people, it’s connecting with those who like the same things you do or people that haven’t found what you love yet. Music can influence how you dress, how you act and the people you choose to surround yourself with. The idea behind the name ‘Another Youth Culture’ is a nostalgic longing for times where community played a clearer, more integral role in music. Punks, Rude Boys, Rockers, Teddy Boys, Mods, Hippies, Britpop.

Will we ever see again the anxiety that rippled through the hierarchy when Sex Pistols released ‘God Save The Queen’? Prompting 1977 to be the only year to have an undeclared number one.

We want to create a community that supports the creativity and innovation of musicians and creatives in other art forms. In a world where venues are dropping by the double click of a Conservative admin’s mouse, a council owned building bought to build another block of flats rather than generated into a useful space for the community.

We want to champion community, we want to be Another Youth Culture.
